Mrs Pam Fitzpatrick

Hi my name is Pam Fitzpatrick and I am a fully qualified and professional psychotherapist in the branch of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).  At the core of my work is warmth, empathy, and helping people feel fully supported throughout their individual therapy process.

I am experienced in working with the following difficulties: chronic anxiety and depression disorders including social anxiety, panic attacks, generalised anxiety, OCD, pure obsessional thoughts, PTSD, and all types of depression and stress related issues.

In addition to working with these difficulties, I am also a CBT specialist who is very passionate in supporting people with chronic fatigue and chronic pain conditions such as CFS/M.E, Fatigue, Vestibular Dysfunctions, and Chronic Pain Conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Migraine.  I have very specialised training in rehabilitation strategies that are proven to be very effective for the management of these types of chronic health conditions.

More generally, counselling is designed to help you explore the things in life that have, or are currently causing you distress in your life.  There is no issue too big or too small and I offer a very safe, confidential, and warm environment to explore these current difficulties.

Generally we will start with an initial assessment session that lasts around 80 minutes where we gain a deeper understanding of the issues and difficulties that you are currently experiencing.  We will then look at your therapy goals which might look at coping and management of your current difficulties. We will also explore the potential for your recovery, and during this session I will also fully explain Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and how I would plan to support you moving forward.

After this initial assessment session, we will normally meet weekly and agree a number of sessions that would be required to help you reach your therapy goals or recovery.

If you would like to call me for a chat about the potential for therapy you can contact me on 07960552669.  Please leave me a message if required, and I will return your call as soon as I can.  Alternatively you can email me on or if you enquiry is of an urgent nature and would like to book an initial appointment ASAP, then you can call Cyncoed Consulting Rooms and book directly in to my Wednesday clinic on 029 2076 4611.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 1-3 BACP Accredited Certification in Generalised Counselling Skills and Theory
  • Level 7- Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Certification in Graded Exercise Therapy for the Management of Chronic Fatigue and Chronic Pain
  • Registered Member of BACP
  • Registered member of BACME (British Association for CFS/M.E)

I am a full and registered member of the BACP and their ethical guidelines are intrinsic to my therapy work. I am vastly experienced, and continuously stay updated with the latest advances in therapeutic practice.

I previously worked for the NHS before my private practice and it was in that position that I was thoroughly trained in CBT strategies for the treatment of chronic fatigue and chronic pain.  Alongside my past NHS experience, I have worked and trained extensively under a Champion Chronic Pain Specialist and Clinical Psychologist in Bristol, where I gained first class experience in working with depression and anxiety alongside chronic health conditions.

Jane Abbott

Jane Abbott BA(Hons) PGCE Dip Therapeutic Counselling MBACP

I work specifically with older children, young people and young adults. I have over 12 years experience of working as a counsellor with young people in secondary schools and higher education. Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I taught art in secondary schools and further education.

I call myself an Integrative Counsellor and my practice is informed by different counselling approaches. I believe that one of most important aspects of counselling is the relationship between the counsellor and client. In order to establish and develop that relationship, I try to be non-judgemental, empathic and genuine. I aim to see the client’s feelings, circumstances and issues from their point of view and feel it is extremely important to carefully listen to the young person. I have found that we rarely listen to one another and the affirmation of having been listened to cannot be underestimated. I work collaboratively with whatever the client wishes to talk about. I try to help the client gain an understanding of their feelings, the reasons they came to see me and explore possible ways forward.

I appreciate that not all young people find it easy to express themselves using words and I believe in working flexibly to meet the needs of my clients. I have a degree in Fine Art and believe that creative forms of communication such as drawing, music, writing, photography can help people to express their feelings.

I am a registered member of the BACP and a member of the BACP Children, Young People and Families Division. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I regularly attend supervision and Continuing Professional Development events and training. Before committing to a counselling session I am happy to offer a half hours telephone consultation to discuss your child’s and your needs. For further information please see my website Contact:

Haemorrhoid Treatment

Paul Mackey - Colorectal Surgeon

Mr Paul Mackey – Colorectal Surgeon

Mr Paul Mackey qualified from Southampton Medical School in 1992 and undertook a variety of junior surgical training post in Wales, the South West and Queensland, Australia. He then went on to obtain an MD thesis looking at anal sphincter damage and faecal incontinence following childbirth. His higher surgical training was undertaken in Wales. He then went on to complete a Colorectal Fellowship in St George Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

He completed his surgical training in 2006.

eXroid electrotherapy treatment for haemorrhoids.

Mr Mackey offers one of the UK's latest innovations for the treatment of haemorrhoids - eXroid electroptherapy.

Haemorrhoid electrotherapy treatment is one of the most gentle and least invasive available today.

The majority of eXroid patients say that this straightforward procedure incurs minimal or no discomfort. A gentle current is applied to the base of each haemorrhoid for up to ten minutes. During treatment the piles shrink, and if not completely gone they can continue to shrink for a week or more following treatment.

Sedation and anaesthetic are not required – and there’s no mandatory recovery time (not even one day). Most patients who’ve shared their experience say they are able to walk straight out of the clinic and return immediately to their normal activities.

Mr Mackey says "I have now had the opportunity to treat over 100 patients suffering with haemorrhoids with the eXroid electrotherapy treatment. Admittedly I was somewhat sceptical as to what could realistically be achieved by such a relatively straightforward and practically painless treatment, but the feedback from patients has been absolutely amazing. We are not far from eXroid becoming universally the first-line treatment for haemorrhoids, and banishing such ineffective treatments such as banding to history".

To book an appointment, more information or for a discreet chat to an eXroid advisor visit

Colette Hart

Hi, I'm Colette, an experienced relational integrative Psychotherapist who specialises in working with anxiety and trauma. This includes issues such as male & female sexual abuse and sexualised trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), physical and psychological trauma, suicidal thoughts, panic & anxiety attacks, grief, bereavement and loss, coping with sudden child bereavement, living with primary and secondary cancer, and of particular interest, medical trauma.

Medical trauma focuses on understanding the nature and effects of trauma stemming from a chronic life changing illness, a life threatening diagnosis, or a routine operation that has that has impacted in a negative way leaving a fear of a hospital environment. Anything medically related that causes an unwelcome change in circumstances and quality of life can cause depressive symptoms, anxiety, isolation and fear as we struggle to adjust. A specialist service offering emotional support at a time when we are at our most vulnerable can offer enormous relief and help us to cope better.

My integrative training means I have knowledge and experience of the models of Psychodynamic, Existential, Person Centred and Compassion Focused therapies(CFT), together with those of Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Mindful Based Cognitive therapy (MBCT).

I established ‘Heart 2 Hart Solutions Ltd’ in 2014, offering private one-to-one and group counselling for those living with the psychological impact of trauma. I have experience of working with trauma specific companies and charities as well as the traumatic stress service in the NHS at the University Hospital of Wales, working with single and complex trauma related PTSD. I am the group therapist for Breast Cancer Care Cardiff supporting those with secondary breast cancer, and in addition have successfully helped introduce ‘Friends & Family’; group workshops for patients and their families who have a primary breast cancer diagnosis. In 2019 I will be piloting educational group therapy for those living with chronic medical conditions, starting with fibromyalgia and menopause. My interest in medical trauma has resulted in a collaboration with Dr Michelle Flaum Hall, a psychotherapist in the United States who has successfully campaigned for recognition of this unique trauma, particularly in the area of women’s health. I have permission to include Dr Flaum Hall’s research for use within my own medical model.

I am a registered member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), a member of the BACP’s Health Care division and a member of MIND. I have professional indemnity insurance with Towergate, am GDPR compliant, ICO registered, and have a current DBS certificate. I have monthly clinical supervision which is a professional requirement to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained within the client/counsellor relationship.

Personal and professional experience of medical trauma has instilled a passion and dedication in me to help those who have been similarly affected. As an integrative therapist I work with a variety of models tailored to suit you and your unique situation, utilising visual and creative techniques, cognitive adjustment, and your ways of relating, to others, to your past and to the present. At all times I offer you empathy and compassion and our work is collaborative, ensuring you have a safe space in which to explore your trauma, which can be challenging as well as liberating, but ultimately helps you gain control back in your life.

Initial exploratory sessions are 90 minutes and priced at £90. Subsequent sessions are £65 and are 60 minutes in length. The number of sessions required depends entirely on your individual needs, and your initial assessment together with regular mutual feedback means you can budget accordingly. It is suggested that meetings are weekly or fortnightly. Appointments are booked directly with me and payment made to the Consulting Rooms at the time of your appointment.

Please feel free to browse through my website at for more information, and you are welcome to contact me directly with any queries. You may book an appointment on 07903 457245, or e-mail

I look forward to meeting you and sharing your experience...
